MACHINE Spring Teams

2024 SPRING TEAM REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

Are you a beginning or experienced player who wants to start playing lacrosse? Join our spring team!!

SPRING SEASON INFO:

Teams: We are offering girls teams this spring for players in 5th-8th grade. We may combine age groups into one team if there is interest and numbers require.

Equipment: We encourage all players to get a stick (GAIT or STX sticks recommended) and ball to do some at-home practice by themselves on the wall or just by doing some flips and catches indoors to get comfortable with their stick.

Schedule: We will begin our Spring Season on Sundays at the PSC from 6:30-8:00 pm, March 24 and will run thru April before heading outside at the end of April or beginning of May. We will look to add a Saturday practice when the weather breaks. We will have a beginner lacrosse focus on the initial dates and then player training and game instruction will progress quickly thereafter. The goal is to get each player an experience with lacrosse that will prepare them for competitive year-round lacrosse with play at the high school level.

Games: We know girls love to compete! As soon as we have enough players rostered, we will look to schedule games with local teams and/or join mid and/or end of season tournaments. Would love to take the girls to a summer tournament after our spring season ends too!

Indoor Field Locations: Indoor practices will be held at the Premier Sports Center in Shelby (north side of 23 Mile, west of Hayes). We will play indoors until our outdoor field is playable and conditions permit in late April or May.

Outdoor Field Locations: Once weather conditions permit and the outdoor fields are playable, we will either be playing at Iroquois Middle School on Romeo Plank Road, south of 22 Mile Road or at Macomb Corners Park which is located on the north side of 25 Mile Road just west of Broughton Road.

Registration Requirements: Spring registration requires individual players to purchase the following:

1) Googles, mouthguard and stick (if you need help with the purchase of any/all of these, please let us know!

2) Membership with USA Lacrosse (apply for membership at www.usalacrosse.com and be sure to link to our club “Motor City Machine”.

Registration Deadline: March 12th, 2024

Participation Fees: An initial $325/player fee is intended to cover team uniforms (end of season turn-in), our indoor training sessions; additional fees for outdoor field costs, officials costs, tournament entry, equipment and coach stipends will apply once our teams are up and running; As we look to restore our spring teams post COVID, we ask everyone to help spread the word that our team is back!

Team Communications: We will be utilizing email and the website for team communications. Once we have a team and game schedule, we will utilize the Sports Signup Play App for our scheduling and in-season communications. Any cancellations, additions and tournament communications will be done through email, the website or the app. Locations of all events will be identified with addresses having clickable links to Google Maps for family travel.
